LINA BAHN

VIOLIN, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

A native of Chicago, Lina Bahn finished her degrees at The Juilliard School (BM), University of Michigan (MM), and the Indiana University (DM). Her teachers have included Roland and Almita Vamos, Dorothy DeLay, Paul Kantor, Naoko Tanaka, and Miriam Fried. As a soloist, Ms. Bahn has performed with the Chicago Chamber Orchestra, The Chicago Symphony Orchestra, La Orquesta Sinfonica de la Serena (Chile), and the Malaysian National Symphony Orchestra.

In 1998, Ms. Bahn joined the award-winning Corigliano Quartet which served as part-time lecturer on the faculty of Indiana University. The Corigliano Quartet has also enjoyed residencies at the Juilliard School and Dickinson College. They have performed in many venues including Alice Tully Hall, Merkin Recital Hall, Ravinia, the Corcoran Gallery, the Phillips Collection, Carnegie Weill Hall, and on Lincoln Center’s “Great Performances” Series. They have been broadcast on NPR’s “All Things Considered”, and Chicago’s WFMT’s “Live From Studio One”, and can be heard on the Albany, CRI, Naxos, Aguava New Music, and Bayer Labels.
